If you’re a Canadian employer who can’t find Canadians or permanent residents to fill job vacancies, you can hire Express Entry candidates to meet your labour needs, Here are the steps on how to make a job offer to a foreign worker through Express Entry:
Check your eligibility. You must first check if your job qualifies for an LMIA and if you are eligible to hire a foreign worker. You can find more information on the government website.
Get a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). If your job requires an LMIA, you will need to apply for one through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). Once you have received a positive LMIA, you can proceed to the next step.
Make a valid job offer. Your job offer must meet the requirements of the Express Entry program. This includes the job being full-time, non-seasonal, and in a skilled occupation. You must also provide the candidate with a copy of your positive LMIA.
Have the candidate create an Express Entry profile. The candidate will need to create an Express Entry profile and include your job offer in their profile. Once their profile is created, they can apply for permanent residence through Express Entry.
Here are some additional tips for making a job offer to a foreign worker through Express Entry:
Be clear about the job requirements and expectations.
Provide the candidate with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Be patient and responsive throughout the process.
Work with an immigration lawyer or consultant to ensure that you are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
